Password Settings Login And Administrator for TCMS V2

Tuesday, March 26, 2013 TimeTec 789 Comments

The TCMS V2 software requires you to input 2 sets of passwords to protect your system from unauthorized access. You can set a login password and an administrator password to protect your system. Always use alphanumeric characters to set your password. Many users fail to recognize that in order to use the Login and Administrator password, you will need to set the password for both columns. Failure to input either one of the columns will show no difference in the password settings. For detailed instructions:

1.     In the TCMS V2 software, click System Settings and select Change password.

2.     Insert both the Login and Administrator passwords. Please make sure both passwords are different from one another.

3.     When you log in to the TCMS V2 software, insert the Login password.

4.     As you can see some of the configuration icons are not available in the software. The icons restricted are System Configuration, New Release and Wizard.

5.     If you log in using the Administrator password, the software will display all icons for your usage.

ii-            Click Next.

iii-          Click Install.

iv-            Click OK and Finish.

3-    Plug in the USB client to the PC and it will install the device driver automatically.

4-    Right-click at Computer and select Manage.

5-    The Face ID 4 device is now detected under Portable Devices in Device Manager

6-    Finally, perform the terminal activation in the TCMS V2 software.

Installing The TA300 Driver

Tuesday, March 26, 2013 TimeTec 102 Comments

The TA300 device can be described as the definition of “mobility”, as it is not only wireless in nature, it is also portable. It is simple to use as it requires no installation, no power supply, and no cables of any sort. Communication with this device is done purely through the simple use of a USB connector. Normally the computer will detect the TA300 device once it is plugged in with the USB cable. If the computer does not detect the TA300 device automatically, then you will have to install the TA300 driver manually.
The first thing you need to do is unplug the USB cable of the TA300 device from the computer. Then install the USB client driver. Please refer to the instructions below to install the USB client driver.

1-     Download either USB Client x86 (for Windows 32-bit platform) or USB Client x64 (for Windows 64-bit platform) for installation.

2-     To install the USB client driver:
i-               Right click at the .exe file and select Run as administrator.

ii-              Click Next.

iii-            Click Install.

iv-             Click OK and Finish.

3-     Plug in the USB client to the PC and it will install the device driver automatically.

4-     Right-click on Computer and select Manage.

5-     The TA300 device will be detected under Portable Devices in Device Manager

Terminal Model Does Not Appear While Adding Terminal to TimeTec

Tuesday, March 26, 2013 TimeTec 0 Comments

Recently we received some feedback from customers regarding how the terminal model does not appear when adding the terminal to TimeTec. We have documented the solution to this problem for your reference. Resellers are encouraged to take note of these problems and provide support when necessary. Understanding problems and their solutions can reduce support lead-time, which could then translate to more satisfied customers.

Problem:
I can 'ping' the terminal but the terminal model does not appear when I try to add a terminal in TimeTec.

Solution:
Normally if the terminal IP, Gateway, Webserver IP & Webserver Port settings is correct, it is possible that the problem is with the computer’s Firewall. Below are the instructions to enable the Port to enable the terminal to be connected to the TimeTec software.

1) Click Start > Control Panel.

2) Select Window Firewall.

3) Select Advanced Settings.

4) Select Inbound Rules and create 'New Rule...'.

5) Select Port and click Next.

6) Select TCP, Insert port 80 then click on Next button.

7) Select 'Allow the connection' and click Next.

8) Select all options to apply this rule.

9) Finally, insert a Name & Description (optional) to complete the process.

10) After completing the above settings, go to: Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager > Then click Restart.

11) Finally restart your Fingertec Device, and re-activate your device.
