Ingress is FingerTec’s latest software; highly recommended for door access control installation. It’s packed with powerful access control features such as graphical floor maps, real-time monitoring, centralized management, data analysis and reporting etc.

First things first, you need to plan properly before implementing the software, as most future inconveniences are caused by faulty installations. Don’t rush into it and get tangled later. Here are 5 things you should look out for to make your Ingress implementation smooth!

Get Your PC Requirements for Server and Client Right – Don’t assume that your system could take anything you provide. Check the specs of your PCs to match the requirements of Ingress to avoid future complication.

THE advanced access control system for YOU
Take Note of the Date of Purchase  Please note that only FingerTec access control devices purchased from 1st January 2013 onwards will be able to activate Ingress for FREE. For devices purchased prior to 2013, you will need to contact your local reseller or FingerTec sales representative at info@fingertec.com to purchase a license key to be able to activate the software once downloaded.

For every purchase of a FingerTec terminal, customers can opt to choose between TCMS V2 or Ingress as its complementary software. Ingress is highly recommended for systems that focus on door access control while TCMS V2 is excellent for time attendance.

Be Mindful of Ingress’s Supported Models  Don’t connect Ingress with unsupported FingerTec models or you’ll be pulling your hair day and night trying to get it fixed.

• MySQL Server,
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Full,
• FingerTec Ingress Software, and
• OFIS Scanner Driver.
Please refer to page 7 to 12 in the Ingress manual for your reference.  You can download the manual at http://www.fingertec.com/customer/download/postsales/SUM-Ingress-E.pdf.

Test Server and Database Connection Before Using Ingress – It might sound like a no-brainer but it is very important to test the server and database connection (as shown below) before you start using Ingress. If you do not perform this step, you will not be able to log into Ingress. I promise.

There you go. In a nutshell, don’t rush into an installation thinking that it’s easy. Actually, come to think about it, it IS easy but you still have to pay attention to the crucial requirements and details required to get Ingress up and running.
