How to Patrol Using TimeTec Patrol App
Introduction
TimeTec Patrol app is a mobile application for TimeTec Patrol, a cloud-based Guard Management System for security firms available at www.timetecpatrol.com. This mobile app needs to be installed on NFC/ BLE-enabled smartphones, and during patrol rounds, guards perform duty by tapping the phone on NFC tags (or scan for Beacons) scattered along their assigned route.

This article demonstrates how a guard patrols by scanning the checkpoint tags using TimeTec Patrol mobile app.
Process
1. Login into TimeTec Patrol App using the email address and password that has been set.
2. Once logged in, tap on the Start button to view the patrolling session that has been scheduled.
3. The App will show the Patrol Route and the scanning mode either to Follow Sequence or Random Scanning. If currently there is a patrol session scheduled for you, the time range will show in the green box. Click on the time range to view or start a patrol session.
4. Click on the Start button to start patrolling. You may locate the checkpoint as shown. If the scanning mode is Follow Sequence, you will have to locate the exact checkpoint as shown and follow the sequence of each checkpoint. For Random Scanning mode, you may locate the checkpoint and scan randomly without following any specific order.
5. Once you start the patrol session, locate the listed checkpoint and scan the checkpoint tag using the mobile device. Please touch the middle area of the phone rear on the NFC tag until it is verified (Note: The green check symbol will appear as shown in the screenshot below.). The time to scan is shown at a specific time to avoid tardiness.
6. Once the guard has scanned all checkpoints, he can tap the End button to stop the round. Click on End Tour on the popup only if you have completed the scanning of every checkpoint.
7. When a patrol round ends, the time range will turn grey and unclickable. The time range will be updated and shown in the green box again once the time for the next patrol session is about to begin.
